In response to demand for children’s art classes I have decided to start this October rather than wait until 2013. This is just enough time for the classes to be tax deductible in 2012 for parents who want to support their children’s interest in art.
An art program has to meet a few requirements to satisfy the Canadian Government. The program must be at least 8 weeks long if classes are taken once a week, or a minimum of 5 days continuously for concentrated study like an Art Camp. Tax Deduction Information.
At Studio Art School classes will be offered weekly during the school year and there will be daily classes during holidays for 5 consecutive days so it will be easy to meet either of these requirements. All classes are 2 hours long and cost $25 each and include all supplies. The weekly classes can be purchased 4 or 8 at a time and are payable in advance. The intensive week of 2 hour daily classes will be $125 (five classes) and also include all supplies. GST is not included in these prices.
As much as possible I will try to have students of similar ages at the same time. This may take a few classes before this is sorted out. I am striving for small class size and I will increase the number of classes as needed.
